Fijian Day at Talavera

Today we were lucky enough to celebrate our Fijian community through a series of dances, songs and (of course) delicious and home-made food. The day started with an assembly which featured a beautiful dance from Torika and Ruthie in year 6 to the gospel song Sa Bale. We were all thrilled when our parent helpers joined in too!

We then heard the Fijian national anthem, sung by parents and our Fijian students who felt brave enough to come to the front of the hall. We were so proud to see our friends sing about their love for their country.
Then came the food tasting. The Fijian community who supported us with this event produced a huge range of absolutely mouth-watering food, from full plates of curry and rice, to lovely accompaniments, and even a variety of puddings! Some of us were lucky to get seconds!
Thank you so much for your support for our cultural celebrations. We are so proud of our multi-cultural school and hope you know that we couldn't hold events like this without your help.
