Nepali Day

Nepali Day Show Tell
Today we celebrated Nepali culture and the amazing contribution that this community makes to our school. As part of this, we held an assembly so that all of our pupils could learn more about Nepal. Our years 5 and 6 sang Gaucha Geet Nepali for us, wowing the rest of the school! We were privileged to have members of the Gurkha regiment join us and demonstrate a Khukri dance. Finally, we were absolutely blown away by 2 year 3 children (Pristina and Jeenessa), who made up their own dance and performed for the whole school.

After our assembly, our pupils went to try a variety of authentic home-cooked Nepali food, including some very spicy chutney! All of the children adored the food and we are so thankful for the wonderful support we've had for today.

We would like to thank all the parents who contributed food or artefacts, the members of the armed forces who contributed their time, our pupils for being so open and welcoming, and Mrs Ranapali for her organisational prowess.

We cannot wait for next year!
