Year 6 World at War Workshop

On Thursday 9th March, Year 6 took part in a creative workshop to help them understand the thoughts and feelings of different people affected by World War 2.
At first, the children were encouraged to take on the role of either Poland or Germany during Germany's invasion of the country. To do this, the children worked in groups on freeze frames.
The children then discussed evacuation and the different experiences that children had as they were sent around the country for their own protection.
Our students particularly enjoyed learning how to do the Lambeth Walk, and were taught about how people used music and dancing to keep their morale up during the most difficult times in the conflict.
Year 6 continue their World at War topic and are looking forward to studying the text Rose Blanche
