Summer Term - Welcome back 2017

As the beautiful sunshine is finally out, I thought it was the perfect time to complete our summer term update.

We are currently in the middle of our SATS week, which can often be a stressful time of year for children and adults alike. However, our children have grown so much as learners they have tackled the complex and demanding tests with confidence and determination. It has been a pleasure to watch them systematically answer the questions; confidently recall their knowledge and understanding; and carefully check their responses. They are such brilliant learners who take pride in achieving their best. What more could I ask from them? Every child should be proud of their achievements and outstanding progress.  As a staff we brim with pride for our children and their exceptional learning attitudes. It really makes you remember why you choose to teach.

Our new arrivals Monty and Apple - Jack also joined our school last week and have given us endless joy! Everybody has become a rabbit expert and we had over 120 applications for Animal Carers.  They are probably the most loved rabbits in Aldershot! Thank you so much for generously supporting our Spring Fair, where we raised the majority of the money for our new family members.   The fair was such a success. We had the most parent support since I have been here, with hundreds of chocolate egg donations, parents on stalls, bunting making and attendance at the event.

Parental support within the school is now excellent. This term it has felt as if the missing part in the jigsaw is complete. All our parents support us and believe in our ethos.  We have had more than 50 parents attend the maths workshop and reading workshop. Parents are supporting their children reading at home and completing homework, offering to support within school and attending all our events. It has been so lovely that so many of you are using our open door policy and coming to discuss learning with us. Together our high expectations and standards of our children give them the best life chances possible.

If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself. —Henry Ford
